   Summer Cleaning Problems of Solutions

Here is Summer Cleaning Problems of Solutions.Summer is traditionally a time to relax and loosen up your normal household routine a little. However, with children home from school and a schedule of activities that may seems even fuller than ever, the season also entails more mess and less time to clean.

 Summer Cleaning Problems of Solutions

Sweep your patio regularly, using a stiff broom and a dustpan. (Store them outdoors, close at hand, if you have the space.) You’ll not only get rid of dust and debris, but also reduce the amount of weeding a stone or tile patio may need. The sweeping action will remove weed seeds and snap the stems of newly sprouted unwanted seedlings before they can grow any bigger. The patio may also need an occasional hose down or scrub with warm water and mild biodegradable detergent. Be VERY careful about using steam cleaner or any substance to kill weeds or clean your patio surface; avoid vinegar, salt, or — worse yet – commercial pesticides, as these will tend to run off the patio and contaminate your garden soil. In addition, acids and harsh cleansers may damage the patio itself.

Summertime is high humidity time. That can lead to household mold, especially inside an already humid area, your shower stall. Lessen the humid atmosphere that fosters mold growth – just open a window or turn on the exhaust fan before every shower in order to vent moisture outside. If your bathroom is exceptionally damp, wipe down the walls with absorbent rags after showering. Should you spot the beginnings of mildew, spray the spot with full-strength vinegar and allow to soak for at least 30 minutes. (Avoid using vinegar on walls or counters covered with natural stone tile.) Then don a breathing mask and rubber gloves and wipe the area down.

Grilling is a fast and fun way to prepare summer meals. But the cleanup can be daunting. To simplify the task, just remember that a warm grill grate is easier to clean than a cold one. You will save yourself time and trouble by cleaning up with floor cleaner either right after a barbecuing session or once you have preheated the grill for 15 minutes. A dedicated wire grate brush will get off the biggest chunks of gunk. Follow up with a wipe using a vegetable-oil soaked paper towel or cloth, held it in your grill tongs for safety’s sake.

Sunscreen, chlorine, and salt all can damage your bathing suit, and so can being left damp and crumpled for hours inside a plastic bag. Rinse swimwear promptly after every trip to the swimming pool or beach. If you’re preoccupied with getting a fast supper on the table and getting your overexcited kids into bed, you can dump everything into a laundry sink or bucket full of cool, clean water. Leave to soak till you can deal with it in the morning. Then hand- or machine-wash on a delicate cycle, according to label instructions. Hang to dry out of direct sunlight.

Spring, not summer, is supposed to be the time when animals shed their thick winter coats but if your pet, like mine, did not read the memo stating that fact, you may find yourself knee-deep in dog or cat hair halfway through July. On a sunny day, take your pet outdoors for a thorough brushing and use vacumm cleaner — that way you won’t be adding to the dust bunnies already inside your house. (BTW, animal fur can be composted.) To remove hair that does land on your furniture, don a rubber glove, dampen it, and rub the upholstery. This acts as a magnet to collect sheddings.
